| To complete a successful Family History Research project, it is important to do Field Research. This involves visiting and exploring your ancestor’s area of residence. This will help you add a dimension to visualizing your knowledge of your ancestry.

| Visiting places where your ancestors lived,
walked, worked, and died can be a very emotional experience. A lot of the
old buildings are still standing, such as churches, parsonages, schools,
factories, and old town and village houses. |

| Sometimes there is only a tomb in the cemetery to record a memory. |

| The greatest triumph arrives through finding relatives who are still living. They can provide fantastic information on the past as well as on the present. Their stories can be an active complement to the history of your family. |

Field Research covers the following activities :
1. phone calls to the local government office
2. genealogy research in local office registers 3.talking to local people 4. looking for your relatives, providing addresses of residence 5. taking photographs of your relatives 6. conducting interviews with your relatives 7. taking photographs of scenery, village sights (church, school, village square, old houses, cemetery, houses of your relatives, etc.) 8. providing a cadastral map of the village 9. additional information about the village Field research is feasible only from April to October.
